The Local Running Adventure

About the Local Running Adventure

We are very excited to be involved in the 2013 Bath Half Marathon as an official Charity. However, running a half marathon wouldn’t be in the Transition spirit if we didn’t extend the adventure to the whole community. So our group of athletes are going on a Local Running Adventure to try and inspire the whole community of Bath to explore the hills, lanes and roads on foot and bike. In doing so we are also looking to raise some funds along the way. Get advice from fellow Transitioners and share the experience via our blog.

Our aim is to inspire our local community to go outside, run, walk, cycle and see this beautiful city and what it has to offer and celebrate with a finale of the Bath Half. To do this we are looking for people like you to take part in our adventure and share your experience with others. As a Transition Bath Half athlete you’ll be joined by our friends at Let’s Go Run to help out with your training, as well as other friendly Transitioners who can offer tips and advice on all things local. We want to explore the roads, hills and trails of Bath; learn what can be eaten locally and in season to help with training; review and compare low impact environmentally running gear (if such a thing exists) and, importantly, make new friends and inspire others to join us on the journey. In doing so we also be raising some desperately needed funds to continue our work and help produce some local guides for others to experience and take on their own local running adventure.
